Learn More: (CST) Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle touch that helps relax and balance the central nervous system.
It allows the fascia of the body to release restrictions in blood flow, flow of the cerebrospinal fluid,
muscles, soft tissue, etc. This can reduce pain and strain patterns in the body.
Craniosacral therapy (CST) holds to the belief that “nobody knows your body better than you do.”
Each of us has an ‘inner physician’ that knows what we need to regulate and balance the functions
of the body as well as the mind and spirit.

Few body structures have more influence over your health and well-being than your central nervous system (CNS).
Craniosacral therapy can create dramatic improvements in how your CNS functions.
CST can release the strains and weakeness in the soft tissues and fluid that protect your brain and spinal cord.
Opening up the blood flow and the flow of the cerebral spinal fluid benefits every body system!

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) takes place in a quiet, private setting. You remain fully clothed on a padded table.
Your therapist gently listens with her hands to various areas of your body to monitor the rhythm of the fluid
that is flowing around your central nervous system. Your therapist  will locate areas where fluid flow or soft tissues are weak and trace them through the body to the original source of dysfunction.

Delicate manual techniques are used to release these areas to improve the form and function of your CNS!
Each person’s experience is highly individual. Sessions are usually deeply relaxing. Craniosacral techniques
are beneficial for everyone. This is especially helpful for people that have experienced brain injury, stroke, PTSD,
chronic health issues, facial/reconstructive surgery and cancer treatments.

CST was pioneered by Dr.John Upledger, a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics at the College of
Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University. More information can be found at www.upledger.com
